Daniel Kohn, MD was president of Maryland ACEP from 1994 to 1998. In 1997 he purchased a shirt-making company that had been founded in Baltimore in 1916. He was not satisfied with labcoats typically available in stores, so he started making coats that were more carefully designed and sewn, and he offered a variety of fabrics and styles for women and men. In 2019 he sold the business, but he retained the factory buildings, as well as an inventory of coats. Instead of discarding the coats, he is now offering free coats to clinicians in the Baltimore-Washington area. Pictures and features of the coats can be seen on the present company’s website at www.medicalcoats.com. The first coat is free, and each additional in $20 (voluntary, cash only. The normal retail price of these coats is $70-$100+). Alterations, embroidery or other features are not available, but Dan can advise on how and where to obtain these services.
In order to properly fit the coats, he is offering two fitting dates to try on and take the coats: Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10 am to 5 pm.
The address is 620 Franklin Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21221
